Love theater, poetry, culture, or an armchair thespian? Looking for a night of summer magic and a bit of mischief? Join us! It'll be great!
Join Blue Nova Workshop with Sarah Wells for Shakespeare Al Fresco: A Midsummer Night's Soirée, where delicious food, lively conversation, and timeless storytelling come together beneath the summer sky.
Whether you're a lifelong admirer of Shakespeare or have never read a single sonnet, this evening is designed to delight, surprise, and welcome you. No acting experience is required, in fact, the less you know, the more fun it may be!
The centerpiece of the evening is an interactive reading of A Midsummer Night's Dream, where guests become the cast. Together we'll laugh through mischievous fairies, enchanted lovers, and unforgettable characters in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. There are no auditions, no pressure, and no expectations, just the joy of sharing a great story together.
Before the reading begins, enjoy conversation and savor a beautifully curated charcuterie spread featuring artisan cheeses, fresh fruit, seasonal vegetables, nuts, and other light bites inspired by the play's enchanted woodland setting as you settle into an evening of culture, creativity, and connection.
To help everyone feel comfortable, we'll begin with a lighthearted introduction to speaking Shakespeare aloud, along with a brief exploration of the music of the English Renaissance to set the mood. You'll be surprised how quickly the language becomes approachable and how much fun it is to bring these centuries-old words to life.
Hosted in the intimate backyard garden of Blue Nova Workshop, this soirée is more than a theater reading. It's an invitation to slow down, connect with others, experience something new, and spend an unforgettable summer evening beneath the stars.
At Blue Nova Workshop, we believe creativity has the power to bring people together. Our experiences are thoughtfully designed to inspire connection, spark curiosity, and remind us of the joy that comes from sharing meaningful moments with others.
